The Community Foundation of Sarasota County presents the 2018 Giving Challenge! This is a wonderful opportunity for your donation to Karma Yoga Outreach, Inc. to make a greater impact. Through the generosity of The Patterson Foundation, your donations (in the range of $25 to $100) made from noon on May 1st through noon on May 2nd, 2018 will be matched 100%
How it works:
During the exciting 24 hour giving event, donations made online at the Giving Partner website will receive a matching grant from The Patterson Foundation. Minimum donation is $25, and the first $100 of each unique donation will be matched.
Who it helps:
When you choose Karma Yoga Outreach, Inc. as the recipient of your #givingchallenge18 donation, your money goes directly to help people experience the benefits of yoga. People like US Veterans who have post traumatic stress disorder. People like school children on the Autism Spectrum. People who are recovering from addiction. You can Be The One to make a difference by funding our programs.
Yoga has been shown to help people be more comfortable being themselves. It helps reduce the stress associated with learning differences, PTSD, and addiction. It teaches people how to calm and relax themselves. Classes help people feel supported by their community. Yoga can help with physical and mental discomfort such as back pain, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and hypertension, in addition to being a great form of exercise for strength and flexibility. Our Karma Yoga classes for Veterans, Children, and Recovery are all free of charge. We are so grateful for the generosity of all our donors (as well as our highly trained teachers!) who help to make these classes possible.
Let’s do yoga together!
Garden of the Heart Yoga Center is sponsoring a fun event the day of the Giving Challenge! From 1-2 pm on Tuesday, May 1st, Cheryl Chaffee will be leading a free, all-levels yoga class for anyone who wishes to come and experience the powerful benefits of a mindful yoga practice. Before and after the event, Cheryl and others will be happy to help you with the online donation process. You can RSVP to the yoga event here on the Garden of the Heart Yoga Center website.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I have to donate with a credit card? In order for us to receive the matching grants, you must donate online with a credit card at www.givingpartnerchallenge.org between noon on May 1 and noon on May 2, 2018. But, if you’d like to make a cash (or check) donation at any time, you can drop it off at Garden of the Heart Yoga Center in an envelope labelled Karma Yoga Outreach.
I’m out of town on May 1st, can I still donate? Yes, you can donate online from anywhere in the world, but be sure to do so between 12 pm (Eastern time) on May 1 and 11:59 am on May 2, 2018.
If I make a donation on the Karma Yoga Outreach website, will it be matched? No, only donations made between noon and noon from May 1-2 on the Giving Partner Challenge website can be matched.
Aren’t there fees associated with donating online? Yes, but they are minimal. Only 6% of your Giving Challenge donation goes toward fees for credit card processing and for the donation technology platform. You can help us even more by opting to pay the additional 6% or simply have it come out of your donation. The Community Foundation of Sarasota County does not receive any of your donation.
